Police Evacuate Death Toll Hit By Galian C Stone Collapse In Aceh Besar

BANDA ACEH - Peukan Bada Police personnel, Banda Aceh, evacuated victims who died due to falling stones at the excavation site of C Gampong Rima Jeuneu, Peukan Bada Aceh Besar District.

"The victim's body has been evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital," said Peukan Bada Police Chief Ipda Munawir Razali, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 17.

Munawir said the victims of the C-stone collapse were Samsul Bahri (41), a resident of Gampong Lampisang, Peukan Bada District, Aceh Besar and served as an excavator or beko operator.

The incident occurred when the victim was operating the beko. Suddenly, a mountain rock about one meter in diameter fell and hit the beko.

"Samsul Bahri died instantly at the scene. This was also witnessed by a number of his other colleagues," he said.

Currently, his party is still coordinating further regarding the incident. The police have taken witness testimony, and the crime scene has also been secured.

The Galian C has obtained a permit with SK number IUP/OP: 540/DPMPTSP/3643/IUP/OP1/2023.

"The validity period of the permit is from June 14, 2023 to June 14, 2024, the location area is around 2.5 hectares," he said.

The company carried out excavations of soil, sand, gravel to marble and others in accordance with Law Number 11 of 1967.

"His work has also received strict supervision, especially as it is today in the rainy season which can endanger workers," he said.
