KPK Dumas Director Responds To Calls For Investigation On Alleged SYL Extortion

JAKARTA - Director of Public Reporting and Complaints Services of the KPK, Tomi Murtomo, is said to have fulfilled the summons for examination as a witness at Polda Metro Jaya. The examination was related to the alleged extortion case of KPK leadership against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL.

"It's here," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak when confirmed, Monday, October 16.

However, Ade has not yet conveyed details about the timing of Tomi Murtomo's presence. It is only known that the examination of KPK employees is ongoing.

Meanwhile, Tomi Murtomo was scheduled to provide information on October 12. However, he could not attend.

"One KPK employee who was summoned as a witness was asked for his statement before the investigators of the Corruption Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya was not present," said Ade, Friday, October 13.

Through an employee of the KPK's legal bureau, Tomi wrote and asked for a reschedule. Thus, it is planned that the anti-corruption agency employee will be examined next week.

Meanwhile, the development of the handling of this case, Polda Metro Jaya has examined 12 witnesses. Two of them are SYL and the Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar.

Then, investigators have also examined Kevin Egananta, Friday, October 13. He is an ADC or an aide to the Chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri.

The series of examinations of dozens of witnesses aimed at finding a suspect in the alleged extortion. This is because the status of the case has been upgraded to the investigation stage. This means that it is believed that there is a criminal offense.
