Residents Of The Kemayoran Panic Dempet Bridge See The Fire Burns Residents' Settlements Due To An Electric Short Circuit

Residents of Dempet Bridge on Jalan Sumur Batu Raya, RT 16/03, Sumur Batu Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta, were shocked by the appearance of a red rooster who devoured a resident's house, Sunday, October 15, afternoon.

Residents who knew immediately ran around shouting 'fire'. One of the residents then reported the fire incident to the Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. office.

After receiving information on the fire, firefighters were dispatched to the fire site to extinguish the fire. The extinguishing operation was carried out at 13.37 WIB by deploying 19 fire engines.

The fire was extinguished at around 14:46 WIB after 95 firefighters struggled to extinguish the fire.

"The object caught fire to a resident's house, a permanent building. The cause was a short circuit in the cable in one of the residents' houses," said Head of Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman to VOI, Sunday, October 15.

The fire was successfully extinguished after watering for more than 60 minutes. It is not yet known whether there were casualties or injuries from the fire. Officers are also still collecting data regarding how many houses were affected.

"A total of 10 families (KK) were successfully evacuated from the area affected by the fire," he said.
