Chairman Of The DKI DPRD Predicts Heru Budi's Term Of Office To Be Extended

Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Heru Budi Hartono predicts that the term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono will be extended by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). Heru's term as Acting Governor of DKI will end on October 17, 2023, exactly a year after being inaugurated. The Ministry of Home Affairs can extend Heru's leadership in Jakarta or replace with other ASN officials to fill the vacant position of regional head before the 2024 Pilkada. "If I see (Heru's term of office) is extended," Prasetyo told reporters, Friday, October 12. Prasetyo assessed that Heru's performance during his leadership of Jakarta for this year was quite good. Heru's most prominent work was to continue land acquisition for the construction of the Ciliwung Sodetan which had stalled for several years. "The president, governor, mayor, regent, already has a program with sustainability. Well, this is going on. Sodetan Ciliwung is good now, that's good," said Prasetyo. Likewise with the integration of transportation modes in Jakarta. The DKI Provincial Government continues to build MRT Jakarta phase 2, in line with the operation of the Jabodebek LRT which was built by the central government. "Transportation is already underway. Gradually, people also move," he explained. On October 17, 2022, the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian officially inaugurated Heru Budi Hartono as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. Heru served as Acting Governor with a term of office of one year and was evaluated every three months. After one year in office, the Ministry of Home Affairs will decide whether Heru's position will be extended for the next year or not. Heru admitted that he did not know whether his position would be extended or not. Heru's term as Acting Governor will end on October 17, 2023, exactly one year of his inauguration. "Yes, I don't know (the position has been extended or not). There is no information yet," said Heru when met in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Central Jakarta, Sunday, October 8.

Heru submitted the decision to extend his position for the next year as Acting Governor of DKI to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Heru has also undergone the last evaluation in one term as Acting Governor. "Yesterday it was the last, (evaluation) per year yesterday. (Regarding the readiness to extend the position of Acting Governor) ask the Ministry of Home Affairs," he explained.
