PKB Believes That The Constitutional Court's Decision On The Age Limit For Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates Will Not Have A Negative Effect On Elections

JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) will hold a trial for the judicial review decision on the article in the Election Law which regulates the minimum age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates next week. Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Jazilul Fawaid, believes that the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the age limit of presidential and vice-presidential candidates will not have a negative effect on the implementation of the 2024 General Election. "PKB believes the Constitutional Court will make a good and wise decision. There is no negative effect on the implementation of democratic elections because the election stages are already underway," Jazilul told reporters, Thursday, October 12. According to him, reading the verdict on October 16 is certainly in a dilemma. Because, he said, whatever the Constitutional Court's decision is, it will definitely be related to the interests of the election. Moreover, the decision was read out just two days before the registration of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the Indonesian KPU. "Hopefully, the Constitutional Court's decision will not cause gossip and shocks that injure the democratic party process," said Jazilul. It is known that the Constitutional Court (MK) will hold a trial for the judicial review decision on the article in the Election Law which regulates the minimum age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates on Monday, October 16. The trial is planned to be held at the MKRI 1 Building, 2nd Floor, Jakarta.
