Police Add Incitement Article To The Case File Of Former FPI Chief Executive, Shabri Lubis

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri added the suspicion of article 160 of the Criminal Code regarding incitement against former Chairman of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Shabri Lubis in the case file for alleged violation of health protocols.

"(Shabri Lubis) Yes, 160 from the beginning of the article already exists," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono to reporters, Tuesday, February 9.

In addition to this article, the Polda Metro used the Health Quarantine Act and fought officers (216 KUHP) to ensnare Shabri.

Apart from that, Rusdi said that not all of the suspects whose cases were suspected of violating the health protocol were suspected of Article 160 of the Criminal Code.

Only Rizieq Shihab and Shabri Lubis were suspected of this article. Meanwhile, others only used the Health Security Law and fought against officers.

"Not all (the suspects were charged with 160 KUHP). But what is clear is that there are 160 (articles)," he said.

Previously it was reported that Ahmad Sabri Lubis was detained by the Attorney General's Office. Sabri Lubis is a suspect in the Petamburan crowd case.

The detention of Sabri Lubis was conveyed by his attorney who is also the Secretary of FPI Legal Aid Aziz Yanuar.

He ensured that the legal counsel had applied for a suspension of detention. "Already earlier," he confirmed, Monday, February 8.

In the crowd case in Petamburan, the police named a total of 6 suspects including Rizieq Shihab on November 14, 2020.

Meanwhile, the other five suspects, Haris Ubaidillah as committee chairman, Ali bin Alwi Alatas (committee secretary), Maman Suryadi (FPI commander and security officer), Sobri Lubis (person in charge of the event), and Idrus (head of the event section).
