JAKARTA - Former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to reschedule his examination today, Wednesday, October 11. The reason is that he could not fulfill the investigator's summons because he had to go home because his mother was sick.

This was conveyed by Syahrul through representatives of his legal team, Ervan Lubis. Together with his two colleagues, Arianto W Soegio, and Anggi Alwik Siregar, the three of them delivered a letter to the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"We will coordinate further with investigators regarding the rescheduling time. Hopefully this humanitarian factor can be considered," Ervan said in a written statement, Wednesday, October 11.

Ervan said Syahrul would cooperate in fulfilling the summons. This assurance was also conveyed in a letter that would be delivered to the KPK.

"But as conveyed to us, the legal team, because we received information about the condition of parents who were 88 years old and sick, Pak Syahrul wanted to meet his mother first," he said.

"Sebagai seorang anak hal tersebut diharapkan dapat semakin memberikan kesanganan hati dalam menghadapi situasi saat ini," sambung Ervan.

As previously reported, the KPK will examine Syahrul regarding the alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) on Wednesday, October 11. He was examined as a witness to complete the case files of other suspects.

This is the first call for Syahrul at the level of investigating the case. Meanwhile, during the investigation process, he was summoned for questioning.

In this case, the anti-corruption commission investigated three criminal clusters. The details are allegations of extortion related to positions, gratuities, and money laundering (TPPU).

The KPK has yet to announce the suspect in the alleged corruption. However, information circulating Syahrul was entangled along with two of his subordinates, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.
