Examined Today, SYL Asked For Cooperatives Regarding Allegations Of Corruption At The Ministry Of Agriculture

JAKARTA - The investigation team of the Corruption Eradication Commission or the KPK has scheduled a summons to the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo alias SYL today, Wednesday, October 11. He was summoned for questioning regarding the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). SYL was reportedly also dragged into the case and summoned in his capacity as a witness. However, there has been no official announcement from the KPK regarding who the parties were named as suspects in the corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture. "Wednesday (11/10) at the Red and White Building, it is true that the KPK investigating team has scheduled summons and examinations as witnesses, Syahrul Yasin Limpo," said Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri. Ali Fikri emphasized that summons SYL this time in his capacity as a witness. The KPK needs information from the Nasdem politician to collect various evidences in the investigation process. "We hope that the person concerned can be present in accordance with his commitment to always cooperate with the entire process of resolving the case in question," he added. It is known, in addition to extortion, there are allegations of gratification to money laundering (TPPU) in the Ministry of Agriculture that are also investigated further by the KPK. KPK investigations are still ongoing to investigate the case. However, the KPK has not disclosed in more detail about the construction of corruption cases in the Ministry of Agriculture which are currently being investigated by the anti-corruption agency. The KPK only ensures, any developments in handling of this case will continue to be submitted to the public.

Even so, the KPK has searched a number of locations in the context of investigating the case, such as at SYL's official residence to the Ministry of Agriculture's office. Various evidences were successfully secured by the KPK, ranging from cash to documents. In addition, the KPK has also prevented a number of parties from traveling abroad related to the investigation of the Ministry of Agriculture case. They consist of SYL, a number of family members, to several officials in the Ministry of Agriculture.
