BNN Banyumas Reveals Case of Distribution of Ecstasy Patterned with Lion Head Prints

PURWOKERTO - Banyumas National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) revealed a case of the circulation of a new type of ecstasy in the Sumbang District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java.

"The disclosure of this case began with a public report received by BNNK Banyumas on Monday October 2. regarding the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics in the Contribution District," said Head of the Eradication Division of the Central Java BNN Commissioner M Arief Dimjati as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 10.

The report was followed up by the Banyumas BNNK Eradication Team by conducting an investigation until finally finding a man with the initials AM (33) in Banteran Village, Sumbang District on Tuesday October 3.

According to him, the pill was with a lion's headprint motif and it reads Kenzo on the other side and gross weight of approximately 6.13 grams.

"The Pil is a new type of narcotic that cannot be detected in a normal way and after laboratory testing was carried out at the Central Java Police Forensic Laboratory Center, it was found that the pills contained epilon compounds or N-Etilpention," he explained.

In Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2018 concerning Changes in Narcotics Classification, epilons are included in class 1 narcotics that should not be circulated.

According to him, the epilon works by stimulating the central nervous system of its use and the effects caused are almost the same as ecstasy, which creates excessive pleasure, lowers appetite and triggers depression.

"This Epilon reaction is faster than other types of ecstasy and this is the first time it has been revealed its circulation in the Banyumas Regency, including Central Java Province," said Kombes Arief.

Based on the results of the investigation, evidence was found that the pills would be circulated in the Banyumas Regency area at a price ranging from IDR 400,000 to IDR 500,000 per item.

In addition, he said, the suspect admitted that the pills were obtained from a person with the initials MN and until now BNN is still tracing the whereabouts of the person concerned and has included them in the wanted list (DPO).

Suspect AM is threatened with Article 114 Paragraph (2) Jo. Article 132 Paragraph (1) Subsidiary Article 112 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (1) Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum imprisonment of 20 years.

"As a follow-up to this case, the Banyumas Regency BNN will continue to carry out intensive investigations and investigations by coordinating and synergizing with related parties to find dealers who are still DPOs and uncover the narcotics illicit trafficking network to completion," said Commissioner Arief.
