Prosecutors Detain 3 Suspects Hoarding 1.3 Tons Of Subsidized Fuel In West Aceh

The West Aceh District Attorney has detained three residents in the area for allegedly being involved as perpetrators of hoarding government subsidized Biosolar fuel.

"The three suspects are detained for the next twenty days at the Class II Meulaboh Penitentiary," said the Head of the West Aceh District Attorney's Office, Siswanto, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 9.

There were also three suspects who were previously handed over by the West Aceh Police investigators, each with the initials RM, HA, and BR.

The three suspects have been detained by the West Aceh Police after previously this case was revealed by the local police.

In this case, the prosecutor's office also received evidence in the form of a box car that was allegedly used to buy Biosolar fuel from a number of gas stations in West Aceh Regency.

The West Aceh District Attorney's Office also secured 1,300 liters of subsidized Biosolar fuel and a number of other evidence.

Based on the statements of the three suspects, said Siswanto, the three of them have been hoarding Biosolar fuel for the past three months.

Of the suspects who have been detained, they have also been detained in the same case. However, the prosecutor did not mention the identity of the suspect in question.

West Aceh Kejari Siswanto said the three suspects were threatened with a maximum imprisonment of six years.

The three are suspected of violating Article 55 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas, as amended by Article 40 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) Letter a of the Criminal Code.
