JAKARTA - Head of the Strategic Communications Agency and Coordinator for the DPP Spokesperson for the Democratic Party, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, said that there are four names that have strengthened to become candidates for vice president for the future presidential candidate for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Prabowo Subianto.
"First, we heard that Mr. Prabowo Subianto's vice presidential candidate strengthened on four names," Herzaky said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 9.
Herzaky detailed that the four names were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto who was promoted by the Golkar Party and the Minister of SOEs who was promoted by the National Mandate Party (PAN).
"Three, Gibran Rakabuming, Mayor of Solo, four Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Governor of East Java," continued Herzaky.
He revealed that Prabowo Subianto would ask and listen to the views of each leader of KIM's political parties, before deciding who to be appointed as vice president.
The Democratic Party, said Herzaky, will provide consideration and input regarding Prabowo's presidential election, when this is requested.
"But of course, for the Democratic Party, it is Mr. Prabowo who will decide who will read the vice president later," he said.
According to Herzaky, his party hopes that the vice president that Prabowo will choose will be the right person and able to bring victory to the coalition.
