No Activity Restrictions, TNI Commander Ensures Bali AIS Summit Doesn't Disturb Tourism

JAKARTA - TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono ensured that the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS Summit) forum 2023 would not interfere with tourist activities in the ITDC area, Nusa Dua, Bali.

This was said by Yudo Margono with the National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo after leading the tactical floor game (TFG) at GOR Yudomo, Kepaon, Denpasar, Bali, Sunday 8 October.

Yudo said the central security operation of the AIS Forum Summit in Nusa Dua will start from 8-13 October 2023. In this activity there are no social restrictions or restrictions on tourism activities in Bali, just like securing the G20 Summit.

However, when the delegation group passes through the main route from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to the inn also at the activity venue in Nusa Dua, traffic activities will be slightly disrupted because they have to prioritize the guests of the AIS Forum Summit.

"There are no restrictions, only later when a convoy is carried out from hotels to the BNDCC area it may be disrupted because it will definitely be stopped on the road as usual," said Yudo.

The TNI Commander believes that the Balinese people are used to large-scale activities where guests often cross the streets of Bali and that is seen as nothing new.

"If later it is a bit disturbed by this like the past, we apologize because this is indeed the duty of the state that we must carry out and the protocol is like that and understandable and that it didn't last long. The past was the same as that. I think the Balinese people already understand the security of this summit," he said.

The Commander hopes that the Balinese people will participate in maintaining order and security to help the Pam Task Force for the smooth running of the international event.

To this day, he said, there have been three VVIP-class delegates who have been present in Bali from 35 confirmed delegates present.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the operation to secure the TNI-Polri at the AIS Forum Summit in Bali would affect Indonesia's diplomacy with foreign countries. Therefore, the safety of the delegates is a gamble on the good name of Indonesia that must be borne together by both the apparatus and the community.

"Everyone understands that the AIS Summit in Bali will strengthen international trust for Indonesia and this is very important for international diplomacy and related to Indonesia's position in the eyes of the international community, so we urge that this implementation activity can really run well," he said.

Regarding the activities of the people in Bali, especially in the routes that will be passed by the Delegations, the National Police Chief has ordered the Korlantas ranks to regulate traffic lanes and engineering.

"We are still preparing other routes, we also place most of the personnel and their activities allocated in the Nusa Dua area, so that then community activities can run without being too disturbed by the AIS Forum Summit," said Sigit Prabowo.
