Dubai Police Arrest Three Viral Female Drivers Standing On Motorcycles To Raising Tires

JAKARTA - Three women were arrested by Dubai police, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for riding their motorcycles recklessly on the highway.

Dubai traffic police chief Major General Saif Al Mazroui said the arrests were made after a video showing the women's actions going viral online.

"One of them damaged his motorbike number plate by bending it, thinking it would help him avoid identification and accountability," he said.

"Our officers made arrests after the video showed the three women carried out dangerous movements such as standing on a motorbike, driving with one wheel or driving without holding a handlebar," Major General Al Mazroui said.

He added that the women were interrogated and admitted they had been driving recklessly.

"Almost 80 percent of motorists who engage in such reckless traffic behavior have been involved in serious accidents, causing serious deaths or injuries," he said.

Their motorbikes were confiscated and fines issued for various traffic violations, including driving in a life-threatening manner, charges with a fine of 2,000 dirhams, 23 points of black traffic on SIMs, and two months of seizure of vehicles.

"According to the UAE traffic law, it will cost nearly 50,000 deposits to retrieve the confiscated vehicles," he said.

He added that the public was urged to report reckless traffic behavior by calling 901 or through the police smart application.
