JAKARTA - The United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council (HAM) held a general discussion on the human rights situation in Palestine.
Palestine, speaking of an interested entity, said it was "very unfortunate that some parties politicized the Council's work because of the desire of the occupation authorities," the UN Human Rights Council said in a statement quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Thursday, October 5.
The council noted that there were more than six million refugees from Palestine and thousands of their citizens were killed in the hands of a zionist group, saying that the Israeli occupational practice that began in 1967 had become "more virulent and barbaric".
"This year commemorates Israel's 56 years as a occupation force. Civilians, journalists and health workers were targeted, and 248 people died this year and many administrative detention orders were issued," Palestinians said.

During the discussion, several speakers expressed serious concern over violations of international human rights law in occupied Palestinian territories, including the deprivation of the right to self-determination, extrajudicial killings, restrictions on freedom of movement and assembly, and illegal settlements.
