Chairman of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) PPP Sandiaga Uno said his party would be istikamah to win the presidential candidate (readpres) Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 General Election, although not as a presidential candidate accompanying the PDI-P cadre.
"Oh, PPP has decided on istikamah, so we are all out to fight until the end to win Mr. Ganjar," said Sandiaga at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 4.
Sandiaga, who is often predicted to be the vice president of PPP for Ganjar Pranowo, admitted that he had not been invited directly by the Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri to discuss the potential position of vice president.
Meanwhile, other vice presidents such as Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Mahfud Md. reportedly have met Megawati in person.
"I haven't met in person, and I only met the event I visited and Mrs. Mega gave directions and gave a point of view, and I recorded everything," he said.
Sandiaga said that currently he is focused on carrying out his duties as Chairman of Bappilu PPP. He also did not question why Megawati had not been invited.
"Not at my place to ask questions like that (called Megawati), but I believe whatever is decided is the best decision, and I am ready to secure it," he said.
Sandiaga admitted that he took part in politics because he wanted to contribute and only wanted to work hard, be smart work, work completed, and work sincerely. He admitted that he still wanted to contribute even if in the end he was not chosen as Ganjar's companion.
"I have the intention of entering politics to contribute and a path of service there must be sacrifices," he said.

Until now, said Sandiaga, the leaders of the coalition party carrying Ganjar Pranowo are still intensely discussing who reads Ganjar's assistant vice president. He did not want to interfere in discussions between leaders of coalition parties.
Talks are still ongoing and PPP has proposed that the presidential candidate be Ganjar and his vice presidential candidate from PPP. "However, of course, the discussion is not my authority. As Chairman of Bappilu, I focus on winning strategic steps, whether it starts from tagline cheap prices, easy work, living blessings, to inviting young people to think about the green economy, a concept carried by PPP," he explained.
