Immigration: Indonesia Is Not A Place To Hide Criminals From Other Countries

The Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) emphasized that Indonesia is not an escaping destination for criminals from other countries.

Silmy emphasized that his party was making the search for foreign nationals (WNA) involved in the criminal case as a major performance indicator (KPI) at the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. This was implemented in the Directorate of Immigration Intelligence and the Directorate of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement.

"This is what we burden them on," he added.

Thus, the attempt to arrest foreigners who fled to Indonesia went well.

Immigration has also arrested a number of foreigners involved in criminal cases that are on the wanted list (DPO) from China, such as two murder perpetrators who have been on the DPO since 2004 with the initials WJ and WC (41) and foreigners involved in a murder case with the initials CX who entered the DPO for 17 years.

In addition, there are also several perpetrators of economic crimes, such as WQ who entered the DPO for seven years with the initials, DW and LX entered the DPO for eight years, and TJ. There are also perpetrators of export and import crimes with the initials WL.

"All of them are requests from the country concerned; there is information and we immediately follow up," said Silmy.

The performance of the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights can prove that Indonesia is getting better in cooperation and relations services between countries.

"This is good for the image of Indonesia in the international world," he said.
