BANTEN - Police arrested two perpetrators suspected of committing criminal acts of corruption (Tipidkor) in the construction of the Color Sari Port access road Phase 2 of 2021, TB (73) and SM (45).

The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Pol. Didik Hariyanto, said that the state's losses related to corruption amounted to Rp7 billion.

It is known that the suspect with the initials TB is the President Director of PT Arkindo, while the entrepreneur who borrowed PT Arkindo has the initials SM.

Didik explained that the disclosure began with the results of an audit by the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) in 2020 which found irregularities. The audit found that there was work that had not been carried out.

Based on the results of the audit, there were irregularities in the continuation of the tender in 2021. The Colorasari Port access road work Phase 2 of 2021 should have been completed on January 19, 2022. However, until the end of the contract, the work has not been carried out.

The down payment of Rp7,265,754,000.00 which should have been used for the construction of the Colorasari Port access road Phase 2 of 2021 was not returned by project implementers.

"The cause is that the land to be used for construction has not been acquired and did not get permission from the land owner," said Didik.

The two suspects were charged with Articles 2 and 3 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
