Syahrul Yasin Limpo 'Losing', Deputy Minister Jokowi Appointed As Minister Of Agriculture Ad Interim

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Harvick HasnulQolbi as interim or temporarily following the unknown whereabouts of Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpousai on a working visit from Europe.

"Ad interim must be an official who is indeed in the same box (covering) with the Minister of Agriculture. Indeed, I (was appointed as) an interim ad," saidHarvick after attending a limited meeting with President Jokowi at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 3.

Harvick said the tasks of the Minister of Agriculture will automatically be carried out by now.

"Automatically, it is because I and the Minister (Syahrul Yasin Limpo), together we were inaugurated by the President (Jokowi), of course to fill the void, especially those that are political, policies, strategic decisions, of course we don't have to stop," he explained.

Until now, he continued, President Jokowi has directed that all main tasks and functions continue to run according to their respective duties at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

"Especially, of course, because this is technical, there are five directorate generals, four agencies, one secretary general, one irjen. We must continue to run, we must not stop, because it is part of community service," explained Harvick.

Previously, Harvick revealed that his party had lost contact with Syahrul Yasin Limposelaama three days ago, especially since its schedule for returning from a working visit in Europe on Saturday (30/9). The name Syahrul Yasin Limpo is suspected of being involved in a suspected corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture.
