Starting In 2024, Piles Of Garbage At The Cipeucang TPA, South Tangerang Will Be Thrown Into Lebak Regency

TANGSEL - Piles of garbage at the Cipeucang TPA, South Tangerang will be dumped into Lebak Regency. This happened because the garbage that was thrown into the Cipeucang TPA was almost full.

Head of the South Tangerang City Environment Agency, Wahyonoto, said that the waste at the Cipeucang TPA will be dumped into the TPA in Lebak Regency starting in early 2024.

He also explained the consideration of cooperation in waste management because the Lebak Regency Government still has sufficient land.

"It is still very wide and the distance is different, although it is only a little with the distance that has been in Serang," Wahyonoto said when confirmed, Monday, October 2.

Previously, the City Government (Pemkot) of South Tangerang (Tangsel) agreed to cooperate with the Lebak Regency Government regarding waste management.

"Because currently at the Cipeucang TPA almost half of it has been filled with piles of garbage, and we have limited land," said South Tangerang Mayor Benjamin Davnie.

Benjamin also assessed that this collaboration would certainly benefit both parties. Later, a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) will be implemented between the South Tangerang Environment Agency and Lebak Regency.

"So one of the points related to waste management from the Cipeucang TPA will be taken to the Dengung TPA located in Lebak Regency," he said.
