Nine Fire Cars Were Dispatched To Put Out The Fire At Garut Hospital

GARUT - The Garut Regency Government deployed nine fire engines (damkar) to extinguish the blaze that burned one of the buildings at the Garut General Hospital (RSUD) dr Slamet, West Java, Sunday, October 1.

Deputy Regent of Garut Helmi Budiman stated that firefighters assisted by other joint officers extinguished until the fire was finally extinguished.

"There were nine fire engines that were deployed, thank God the fire was extinguished," said Helmi, Antara, Sunday, October 1.

He and related officials immediately checked the location of the fire at Dr. Slamet Garut Hospital, which is located on Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District.

He said the fire was reported at around 12.00 WIB, then the hospital and other officers from the Garut Fire Service extinguished it so that the flames would not spread more widely.

He conveyed that the fire would certainly disrupt services at the hospital, but it is hoped that the incident could be resolved by the management of Dr. Slamet Hospital Garut.

"Let's just pray that hopefully there's nothing," he said.

Deputy Director General of RSUD Dr. Slamet Garut Evi Anshori said the fire burned down the logistics room in which there were unused beds and medical devices.

Regarding the cause of the fire, he said, it is not yet known, while his party is currently still trying to overcome the location of the fire so as not to interfere with activities in other services.

The fire, he said, was confirmed that there were no casualties, for patients whose treatment rooms were close to the location of the fire and immediately evacuated to a safer room.

"For services to continue," said Evi.

The fire at Dr. Slamet Garut Hospital was clearly visible in the puff of smoke from the highway area, so that it became a concern for local residents and road users.
