Heru Budi Asked For A Central Lobby, Integrated KRL Tariffs With Transjakarta-MRT-LRT

Deputy Chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Taufik Azhar, asked the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono to lobby the central government so that the discourse on the integration of Commuter Line KRL rates with transportation modes belonging to the DKI Provincial Government, namely Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta.

According to Taufik, Heru, who is also the Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres), will help him facilitate communication with the Ministry of Transportation regarding this plan.

"Ask the Acting Governor to help. The Acting Governor is a person from the center (Head of the Presidential Secretariat). Yes, please understand, how about it. The Ministry of Transportation must be contacted, the Director General of Railways as well," Taufik told reporters, Wednesday, September 26.

Since several years ago, the DKI Provincial Government has wanted to integrate transportation rates in Jabodetabek.

The DKI Provincial Government, through its BUMD, namely PT MRT, also plans to acquire half of the shares of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) so that this integration can be realized. However, the central government company, namely PT KAI as the parent company of PT KCI, rejected the acquisition.

"Actually, the DKI Provincial Government is waiting for a decision from the center. Right, those who don't want it from the center. We are in nature, what we want can run. But they (central) have a little objection. Maybe there are a lot of effects for them if they join us," explained Taufik.

Previously, the President Director of PT MRT Jakarta Tuhiyat was outspoken about the fate of the plan to integrate MRT transportation mode tariffs, Jakarta LRT, Transjakarta, with the KRL Commuter Line which had not materialized.

This was conveyed by Tuhiyat in a meeting of Commission B of the DKI DPRD which discussed changes to the 2023 APBD.

"What happened after 2 years, the high level commitment broke up. There was no commitment from the Ministry of SOEs regarding KAI, because only those who could control the Ministry of SOEs," said Tuhiyat at Grand Cempaka Resort & Convention, Bogor, West Java, Thursday, September 14.

PT MRT Jakarta and PT KAI have actually formed a joint venture to carry out public transportation integration, namely PT Moda Integration Transport Jabodetabek (MITJ) in January 2020. Where, MRT has a share portion of 51 percent and KAI is 49 percent.

With the cancellation of the acquisition plan which caused the integration of tariffs not to be implemented, Tuhiyat suggested that the government dissolve PT MITJ.

"Ini sampai-sampai badan usaha yang dibentuk antara Pemprov DKI dan pemerintah pusat yang namanya Moda Integration Transportasi Jabodetabek saya minta disbandkan kalau komitmennya tidak konsisten," imbuhnya.
