Indonesia Achieves Runner Up Position At The Asia Junior Sports Exchange Games 2023 Tokyo

TOKYO - Indonesia won the prestigious title as runners-up for Badminton and Badminton at the Asia Junior Sports Exchange Games 2023 (26-28 August) at Komazawa Olympic Park Tokyo, Japan.

In the final, Indonesia, represented by the DKI Jakarta Team, was defeated by the host Fukushima Japan with a score of 3-2. This result shows young Indonesian athletes who carry the tradition of achievement, and their success in the international arena adds to Indonesia's reputation as one of the biggest strengths in badminton sports.

Chef De Mission (CdM) as well as Manager of the Badminton Team Muharram Fajar Nugraha expressed his pride and said that this is proof of the dedication of athletes, coaches, and the entire contingent and the Badminton community in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta.

"In the Finals we haven't been lucky but we are very proud of our team's extraordinary performance at the 2023 Asia Junior Sports Exchange Games. Champions 1, 2 and 3 are just numbers and levels, despite that we believe this achievement can be a motivation and enthusiasm for all of us, coaches, contingent line players and supporters to bring us even better in the future," said Muharram.

Muharram stated that their achievements in this prestigious event are expected to be a new spirit for prospective Indonesian badminton stars to continue to work hard, hone their abilities, and strive to achieve more in the future. That after returning from Tokyo, Jakarta can provide even greater inspiration for scoring achievements for the advancement of Badminton Indonesia.

"After returning home, we not only brought silver medals but also valuable experience competing with the best junior athletes from all over Asia. We are increasingly motivated to continue to work hard, push for limits on our abilities, and fight for even greater achievements in the future. We hope that our performances can inspire young athletes throughout Indonesia to dream big, work hard, and be confident," he added.

In the 2023 Asia Junior Sports Exchange Games held at Komazawa Olympic Park Tokyo, Jakarta representing Indonesia won the prestigious title as Runner-Up Badminton and Badminton from 17 City-City Teams in Asia such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Fukushima, Bangkok, Seoul, New Delhi, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur etc.
