Representatives Of The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia Ask For Official Support So That They Can Host The 2030 World Cup, Dito Ariotedjo: International Trust Indonesia Recognized By The World

JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Dito Ariotedjo received a visit from the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi on the 10th Floor of Graha Kemenpora, Central Jakarta, Tuesday 29 August. This visit is in order to strengthen Saudi Arabia's relations with Indonesia, especially in the field of youth and sports.

Menpora Dito welcomed the visit of the Saudi Arabian Ambassador. Moreover, Indonesia's relations with Saudi Arabia have been well established for a long time.

"Saudi Arabia is a true friend. We both have the largest Muslim population in the world. And most importantly, bilateral relations in the fields of economics and education have been well established," said the Menpora.

Therefore, according to Menpora Dito, it is necessary for both countries to further strengthen state relations. One of them is related to youth and sports.

Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi explained that one of his arrival to meet the Minister of Youth and Sports asked for support from Indonesia regarding Saudi Arabia's plan to run for the 2030 FIFA World Cup host. This request for support is based on brotherhood and friendship with Indonesia.

"This good relationship is not only between the two countries, but also multilateral. We need support from friendly countries, one of which is Indonesia," said Faisal.

Saudi Arabia, in this case, asks for written support from Indonesia through the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports. This written support is addressed to the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Regarding the request, Menpora Dito stated that he was ready to provide support in accordance with President Joko Widodo's directives and approvals.

"We are ready to collaborate with Saudi Arabia. Of course, I will report the results of this meeting to the President first, and ask for further directions. He is certainly happy, the official request from the Saudi Arabian kingdom proves that Indonesia's international trust is recognized in the global arena," explained the Menpora.

In addition to requests for support to host the 2030 World Cup, this visit is also related to President Joko Widodo's planned trip to Saudi Arabia on 19 October. The visit is expected to produce various MoU signatories and high-level cooperation between the two countries.
