Lestarikan Olahraga Traditional, Menpora Dito Buka Ketapel Championship Open Tournament Mbete Mayor Cup Di Lubuklinggau

LUBUKLINGGAU - Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito Ariotedjo opened the Open Tournament Mbete Mayor Cup at Megang Sports Park (TOM), Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra, Friday, August 24.

The opening was marked by a catapult by Menpora Dito with Mayor Lubuklinggau HN Prana Putra Sohe. The Open Tournament Mbetet Mayor Cup is a national level catapult championship. This event was initiated by the Indonesian Community Recreation Sports Committee (KORMI) of Lubuklinggau City.

As is known, ketapel used to be a traditional weapon. Ketapel lovers in Indonesia made it a sport. The competition held by the Lubuklinggau City CORMI was attended by 1500 participants.

"The catapult is a game of the people and is also a national sport under the auspices of KORMI. This catapult game needs to be preserved and developed so that this catapult championship is very good to advance traditional sports that are popular with the community," said Menpora Dito.

"Of course, I appreciate Lubuklinggau for holding the Mbet Mayor Cup for this catapult. And the biggest thing, the participants have reached 1500. This is extraordinary," continued Menpora Dito.

Menpora Dito hopes that this catapult championship can continue to be implemented in the future. I hope that in the future activities like this can continue to be carried out and continue to exist and later become an annual calendar," he explained.

On that occasion, Menpora Dito congratulated all participants of the catapult competition.

"We hope that the participants can uphold sportsmanship in competing so that the competition process can run safely and smoothly," he said.

According to him, this catapult game requires the player's concentration, skills and consistency. "The focus and dexterity of the participants is the key to success for the participants," he concluded.
