Puan Regarding The 2024 Presidential Election Only 2 Axis: Not Something Impossible

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Puan Maharani said the opportunity for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) was only followed by two open axes. Moreover, the registration of new presidential and vice presidential candidates will be opened on October 19-25.

"There is still approximately one month, yes, (registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates, ed) talks related to this of course we are wide open," Puan told reporters, Tuesday, September 26.

Puan invited each party to discuss. They are considered to have political mathematics in response to existing conditions, including the question of the possibility of two axes.

"If the two axes will be better for the nation and state, whether the chance in uniting this country so that it is not divided will be less, right, so it is better for the upcoming democratic party," he said.

"We all have calculations so it's not impossible. However, who and how, of course, it must be reconsidered," continued the chairman of the DPR.

Rumors about the two axiss of candidate pairs in the 2024 presidential election were mentioned by the Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid. According to him, in the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates, there is a possibility that there will be only two pairs of candidates.

One of the axes, continued Jazilul, is the pair Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar promoted by the NasDem Party, the National Awakening Party (PKB), and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).

"I see it personally, there are not necessarily three axes, it could be two axes, we'll wait for it later," Jazilul said on Monday, September 18.
