JAKARTA - Kasesang Pangarep expressed his feelings as Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). When reading a speech on stage, the heart felt palpitations.

This was admitted by Kaesang in PSI's National Land Coffee (Kopdarnas) which ratified him as chairman of the party.

"Good night Bro and Sis all. Shallot. I'm nervous," said Kaesang at Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 25.

Kaesang expressed his gratitude to the PSI Board of Trustees for trusting him in carrying out the position of Chairman of PSI for the 2023-2028 period replacing Giring Ganesha.

"Thank you very deeply, apart from being accepted as a member, I was also asked to be the captain in the ark named PSI. If it is called a big ship, yes, but we are going there. I am sure and optimistic that the flow and group will side with us, young people," said Kaesang.

Kaesang explained the reason why he entered politics. He admitted that many parties, especially the younger generation, were surprised by his decision.

Kaesang realized that not a few young groups were quite apathy to politics and were even considered central to corruption, political money, and so on. However, Kaesang claims to want to bring the political direction properly so that the apathy can be lost.

"I want my generation to be more involved in public affairs. I believe that getting into politics is one of the best ways for young people to save the future," he explained.

Kaesang joined PSI marked by handing over party membership cards (KTA) to Kaesang by PSI General Chair Giring Ganesha, in front of President Jokowi's private residence on Jalan Kutai Utara Number 1, Sumber Village, Banjarsari District, Solo City, Central Java, on Saturday, September 23.

In addition to the inauguration of Kaesang as General Chair, PSI also appointed Giring Ganesha and Isyana Bagoes Oka as members of the PSI Board of Trustees.

Then, the position of Secretary General (Secretary General) of PSI is now again filled by King Juli Antoni. The King of July previously also served as Secretary General of PSI before becoming Secretary of the PSI Board of Trustees.
