JAKARTA - Jember Regent Hendy Siswanto said international activities of the 2023 Asian Music Games could improve the economic sector and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Jember Regency, East Java.

"I am optimistic that the Asian Music Games will have a double effect (multiplier effect) starting from improving the economy, MSMEs to the investment climate in Jember," he said, quoted from Antara, Sunday.

Hendy opened the world championship marketing band Asian Music Games and street parade competition which was attended by a number of countries on Jalan Sudarman, Jember, Saturday (23/9) night.

"This activity is an opportunity to introduce and promote Jember Regency to the national and international levels and will certainly have a tremendous impact," he said.

He said the impact felt by Jember as the host of the world-class band marching competition was certainly very much felt by many parties, starting from improving the economy both in terms of tourism and other sectors.

"The coolness is that the name Jember Regency is also increasingly existing in the world arena. From Jember to the world, so it can be known both at the national and international levels because for the first time in history, Indonesia, namely in Jember, is the host of the Asian Music Games competition," he said.

Hendy said several delegates from the Asian Music Games athletes from abroad had also ordered Jember MSME products, so they were expected to increase the turnover of the typical Pandalungan City business actors.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Community Recreation Sports Committee (KORMI) Jember Tri Basuki said Asian Music Games was an event under the auspices of the Asian Marching Band Confederation (AMBC).

"In it there is a visual music competition and displays individual appearances, duets, and groups from various categories from all over Asia," he said.

According to him, the Asian Music Games are the band's marketing competition activities that are first held in the world and will be held in other member countries every two years.

"A total of 2,000 participants competed for 77 gold medals, 77 silver medals and 77 bronze medals. Not only that, it is certain that with the grand event there will be a fairly large circulation of money in Jember Regency from various sectors," he said.
