The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Semarang City has so far handled two cases of alleged violations of the neutrality of the state civil apparatus (ASN) at the 2024 General Election stage.

"The first case is in January 2023," said Head of Sub-Section for Handling Violations of the Settlement of Disputes on the Election Process and Law of Semarang City Bawaslu Arief Rizal, in a statement, in Semarang, Friday.

The first case was carried out by civil servants (PNS) of sub-districts and sub-districts, while the second case was carried out by government employees with a teacher work agreement (PPPK).

As is known, PPPK is a state civil apparatus (ASN) recruited under Law Number 49 of 2018 concerning PPPK Management.

He explained that the Semarang City Bawaslu had succeeded in the case to the authorized agency, namely the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN).

"In the first case, we have handled and forwarded it to KASN, and KASN has also issued recommendations by providing moral sanctions," he said.

"Meanwhile, we have forwarded the second case to KASN, and the results of the recommendation from KASN have been terminated with disrespect," he said.

Head of Semarang City Bawaslu Arief Rahman said that his party had made various efforts to prevent violations related to ASN neutrality in Semarang City.

"Bawaslu Semarang City has made an appeal to the Mayor of Semarang regarding the neutrality of ASN, and 16 sub-district panwaslu have also carried out the same thing to 16 sub-district heads throughout Semarang City," he said.

He reminded the ranks of the Semarang City Government through staffing officials to continue to echo the spirit of maintaining the neutrality of ASN.

In addition, Arief also asked for the support of the Semarang City Government in order to ward off the practice of money politics that could potentially occur at the 2024 General Election in Semarang City.

"We already have 10 anti-political urban villages and supervisory sub-districts. In fact, we have just gathered 32 Lurahs to be able to collaborate with the sub-district panwaslu to expand the anti-money politics area," he said.
