2 Corruption Convicts Of DLH Bandar Lampung Waste Retribution Sentenced To 4-5 Years In Prison

BANDAR LAMPUNG - Two corruption defendants at the Bandarlampung Environmental Service (DLH) Haris Fadillah and Hayati were sentenced to 4 years and 5 years in prison each by the Panel of Judges of the Tanjungkarang Class IA District Court, Bandar Lampung.

In the case of corruption in waste retribution in DLH, there were three people who were tried as defendants, namely the former Head of DLH Bandar Lampung, Sahriwansah, former Head of Environmental Management Division of DLH Bandarlampung Haris Fadilah, and assistant treasurer recipient at DLH Bandarlampung Hayati.

"Sentenced Haris Fadillah to 4 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million on the condition that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 4 months," said Chairman of the Panel of Judges at the Class IA Tanjungkarang District Court Lingga Setiawan, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 21.

The judge also issued that the defendant was charged with compensation of Rp. 416 million minus Rp. 76 million in the Lampung Attorney General's treasury, so that the remaining replacement money that the defendant had to pay was Rp. 340 million.

"If the replacement money is not paid, the prosecutor will confiscate his property and auction it off to replace the replacement money, provided that if the replacement money cannot cover the replacement money, it will be replaced with a prison sentence of one year," he said.

Meanwhile, another defendant, Hayati, was sentenced to five years in prison for being found guilty of being involved in a criminal act of corruption in the 2019-2021 waste retribution money.

"The defendant Hayati was sentenced to five years in prison. The defendant was also subject to an additional sentence of Rp. 200 million," said Lingga Setiawan.

If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for four months. In addition, the defendant Hayati was also charged with paying compensation of Rp. 984 million.

"Because the defendant has paid a replacement money of Rp108 million, the replacement money that must be paid is Rp876 million," he said.

The judge said that if the replacement money was not paid, the defendant's property could be confiscated by the prosecutor and auctioned off to cover the replacement money.

"With the provision that if the convict does not have sufficient assets, he will be sentenced to imprisonment for one year and six months," he said.
