PDIP Secretary General Ensures Communication With Ridwan Kamil Continues

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said Ridwan Kamil's opportunity to accompany Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election was closed. The reason is that the former Governor of West Java is a cadre of the Golkar Party.

It is known that the Golkar Party is currently joining the Forward Indonesia Coalition which carries the General Chair of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate).

"If the party has expressed its support for a certain presidential candidate, automatically, political ethics must be respected by the PDI-P. And Mr. Ridwan Kamil is part of the Golkar Party that has pushed for a presidential candidate, namely Mr. Prabowo," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 19.

Even so, PDIP will not close communication with Ridwan Kamil. Moreover, this figure often places the struggle of the First President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno or Bung Karno.

Hasto alluded to the possibility that communication with Ridwan Kamil would occur when the Bung Karno Statue in the Saparua Sports Hall area, Bandung, West Java was inaugurated. "After this, there will be progress. Later there will be inauguration," he said.

"So, communication is still running," continued Hasto.

Furthermore, Hasto said that the figure of the vice presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo is still being discussed. The determination will be in the hands of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and conveyed in the right moment.

"Regarding who is accompanying Pak Ganjar Pranowo, that will be Megawati Soekarnoputri," he concluded.
