Moeldoko Calls Changes In Export And Import Policy To Maintain The Economy

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff, General TNI (Ret.) Moeldoko, ensures changes to export and import policies solely to keep the Indonesian economy growing, and to withstand global economic shocks.

Moeldoko conveyed this when closing the Round Table Discussion Djakarta Mining Club, in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 19.

"Not for the sake of the President, not for pragmatic interests," said Moeldoko.

As is known, the Round Table Discussion Djakarta Mining Club discusses Government Regulation (PP) No 36/2023 concerning Export Result Foreign Exchange from Entrepreneurship, Management, and/or Natural Resources Processing (DHE SDA) activities.

The forum, which brings together the government and entrepreneurs, unravels various problems that arise in the field over the implementation of PP on DHE SDA.

According to Moeldoko, synergy between the government and entrepreneurs is needed, especially to evaluate various policies. So that policy changes do not hinder business activities and investment.

"Entrepreneurs are smooth, the government is enjoying it. Entrepreneurs are sick, the government is also feeling it because it affects the state budget," said Moeldoko.

On that occasion, the 2013 2015 TNI Commander emphasized that the revision of PP No. 1/2019 to PP 36/2023 was carried out because foreign exchange results from exports of natural resources entering Indonesia were not comparable to export performance growth.

"Essentially, we want the results of SDA exports to enter Indonesia, and rotate for our economy," he concluded.

For information, in the revision of PP 1/2019 to PP 36/2023, a number of adjustments have been made, including sector coverage that is required to deposit DHE, DHE depository place, minimum limit of DHE obligations (USD 250 thousand), placement time limit (minimum 3 months), conversion to rupiah, and tax facilities.
