JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the government is still waiting for the autopsy results on Josi Putri Cahyani, an Indonesian citizen (WNI) who was found dead in an apartment in Japan last August.

Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and Indonesian Legal Entities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Judha Nugraha said the autopsy process against Jodi took a long time because the local police were careful to determine the cause of death.

"Once the autopsy is complete, we will facilitate the repatriation of his body to Indonesia," Judha said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 14.

Judha said the government would also monitor the law enforcement process against victims if the cause of death showed that Jodi was a victim of crime.

Josi Putri Cahyani, 23 years old, had lost contact since August 17 before the police found her body in an apartment in the town of Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan on August 22.

Before he died, it was reported that Jodi was with a Japanese man named Keiichiro Kajimura.

Japanese police have arrested Kajimura, a person suspected of knowing about Jodi's death, on August 24 at a train station in Tokyo.
