Jokowi: Work on the Jakarta-Surabaya Semi-fast Train Depends on Studies

KARAWANG - President Joko Widodo said that work on the Jakarta-Surabaya semi-fast train national strategic project (PSN) depends on the results of the studies carried out.

Jokowi conveyed this when asked by journalists about the development of the Jakarta-Surabaya semi-fast train project, on the sidelines of activities in Karawang, West Java, Thursday, September 14.

"Everything is still under study. If it's visible, it's done, it's not visible, it's not done," said Jokowi briefly, as monitored in a video broadcast received in Jakarta.

Previously, when testing the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train last Wednesday, he said that the plan to build the Jakarta-Surabaya high-speed train was still being studied and calculated in more detail, including determining the route.

"Those who are going to Surabaya are still under study, still under calculations, and determining which 'track' they will be on is still under study," said President Jokowi at Padalarang Station, Bandung, West Java, Wednesday.

The President admitted that he could not answer in detail because planning, including studies and calculations related to development, had not been completed.

However, the President explained that the Jakarta-Surabaya high-speed train route would cross the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train route to grow new economic points along the track.
