Kapolsek Bermani Ulu Iptu Ibnu Sina Alfarobi said the victim who died on top of Bukit Daun was named Mansurudin (45), a resident of Air Meles Atas Village, Selupu Rejang District. The deceased is a former commissioner of KPU Rejang Lebong.

"Until tonight, the joint team is still heading to the TKP, which is estimated to take 3.5 hours and until 20.30 WIB it has not yet reached the TKP," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 12.

He explained that the residents who died while climbing the Bukit Daun were known to his party after the victim's colleague called the Bermani Ulu Police at 16.00 WIB asking for help to be evacuated because a colleague fell unconscious due to exhaustion.

Based on information from the victim's colleague, he said, it was known that the victim was declared dead due to exhaustion.

The victim had just campped with his friend on top of Bukit Daun in Bermani Ulu Raya District, which has a height of 2,467 meters above sea level.
