Police Reveal Drug Delivery Mode From Aceh With Coffee

BANDA ACEH - Banda Aceh Police Chief Kombes Fahmi Irwan Ramli revealed that coffee commodities are often used as a modus operandi to send narcotics packages from Aceh to other destinations through goods delivery services.

"Because Aceh is famous for its coffee, it seems as if the modus operandi is to send coffee, even though what is sent is methamphetamine," said Kombes Fahmi Irwan Ramli as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 12.

Fahmi said that the delivery of narcotics with the coffee mode has started to trend to develop recently in Aceh, therefore to shipping services and airports, they need to be more careful to check their goods.

The latest case, he said, revealed that 10.4 kg of methamphetamine was sent through Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport (SIM) Blang Bintang Aceh Besar to North Sumatra, DKI Jakarta and West Java.

The suspect's drug shipment was carried out by pretending to sell Aceh coffee which was sent via an expedition service, finally known by the operator of the X-ray machine at SIM Airport.

"To anticipate this, we continue to coordinate with shipping services in the jurisdiction of the Banda Aceh Police," he said.

Fahmi explained, because the airport is a vulnerable place, his party has also coordinated with SIM Airport. If you find suspicious items, they are immediately reported.

"Moreover, regarding narcotics abuse, it can be conveyed immediately, so that we can carry out further investigations and investigations," he said.

Especially for shipping services, he continued, his party has also conducted socialization to a number of expeditions and appealed to be more careful.

"Be careful accepting the goods, and make sure every sender of the goods leaves the KTP. So that when there are suspicious items, we can follow up," he said.
