Bey Machmudin: Fast Train Drives Economic Growth In West Java

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of West Java Bey▁Keputusanhi Machmudin is optimistic that the presence of the Jakarta - Bandung high-speed train will encourage and bring significant economic growth to the province he leads.

"Moreover, the high-speed train passes through three stations in West Java, namely stations in Karawang Regency, Padalarang West Bandung, and Tegalluar Bandung Regency. We believe that it will bring West Java's economic growth and grow new economic centers," said Bey while accompanying the review of the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi at the Tegalluar High Speed Train Depot, Bandung Regency, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 9.

The West Java Provincial Government, said Bey, supports the high-speed train by preparing road infrastructure as well as transportation modes to and from the three stations.

"There are Trans Metro Bandung, Bandung Rapid Transit, and others to support the necessary access," he said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said that the presence of a fast train is a symbol of friendship between Indonesia and China.

Therefore, he said, the activity in Tegalluar which is also in the context of opening the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway Science and Cultural Exchange Base is the initial moment of the process of exchanging science from China to Indonesia, both railway knowledge and technology and culture between the two countries.

"So the commitment from China to the President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo) to the Indonesian people to make technology transfers, today starts. Including rail fans to become the history of the operation of this fast train," said Budi Karya.

The Minister of Transportation said President Joko Widodo would also try out the Jakarta - Bandung high-speed train on September 13, 2023 and it is planned to be inaugurated by the President on October 1, 2023.

"God willing, everything will go well. Therefore, the Acting Governor of West Java can make a repair if something is lacking, thank God," said the Minister of Transportation.
