JAKARTA - PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) confirmed that there was no cutting of public service obligation subsidy funds (public service obligation/PSO) of IDR 1 trillion for operational needs.

"No, there is no budget cut. That is an issue that may develop in the community but actually there is none," said TransJakarta Operations and Safety Director Daud Joseph at the CSW Bus Stop, South Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 8.

Daud said the issue was known to come from adjustments to the timeframe for inter-headway departures where the number of fleets could not be operated as much as before.

However, all of that can be overcome in early September so that the situation has recovered so that the fleet can return to its original path.

"So the subsidy currently budgeted by the DKI Provincial Government has IDR 3.9 trillion," he said.

However, his party does not deny that they are waiting for the results of the decision regarding the re-adjustment that could occur in the future.

"The subsidy is not an excuse, because the benchmark for TransJakarta services is the minimum service standard through Governor Regulation No. 13 of 2019," he said.

Governor Regulation Number 13 of 2019 concerning Amendments to Governor Regulation Number 33 of 2017 concerning Minimum Service Standards for Transjakarta Public Transportation Services. One of them is the existence of a pramusapa service.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the ticket subsidy or PSO TransJakarta funds reached Rp3.9 trillion from the 2023 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD). The PSO funds include the procurement of 120 electric buses operated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial BUMD.

DKI DPRD member Eneng Maliyanasari urged the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to explain the cutting of the public service obligation subsidy for PT TransJakarta Rp1 trillion for the 2024 Fiscal Year.

"He said he was serious about dealing with congestion and air pollution, but why cut the TransJakarta PSO subsidy?" Eneng told reporters in Jakarta, Monday (4/9).

Eneng said that cutting subsidies could potentially reduce TransJakarta and JakLinko/Microtrans bus services needed by the community.

Moreover, the current condition of Jakarta is an emergency air pollution that should the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) encourages people to use more public transportation so that air conditions improve while reducing congestion.
