Having Good Relations With Gus Dur's Family, PPP Optimistic Yenny Wahid Supports Ganjar

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP PPP Achmad Baidowi (Awiek) is optimistic that the daughter of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), Zannuba Ariffah Chafsoh (Yenny Wahid), will decide on her support for Ganjar Pranowo's presidential candidate. Because according to him, Ganjar has a good relationship with Gus Dur's family.

"If I look objectively, Pak Ganjar's relationship with Gus Dur's family is a long relationship, full of kinship, full of familiarity and historical relations. I'm still optimistic, later Mbak Yenny will go to Pak Ganjar," said Awiek at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, September 8.

According to Awiek, Gusdurian's support under Yenny Wahid's command cannot be underestimated because it can increase Ganjar's strength in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

"At least it can increase Pak Ganjar's strength. If Gusdurian is under the command of Mbak Yenny, he can join Mas Ganjar and the coalition," he said.

Awiek then compared the atmosphere of Yenny Wahid's meeting with Ganjar and Prabowo some time ago. According to him, the atmosphere of the closeness of the two meetings was different.

"It's different. The family atmosphere is reflected between the two meetings, Mbak Yenny meets Prabowo and Mbak Yenny meets Ganjar. The atmosphere of kinship is more visible. What is made up, what is natural, it will be visible," said Awiek.

Previously, Yenny Wahid firmly did not support the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) pair. Yenny also sent a signal that she would support Presidential Candidate Prabowo Subianto or Ganjar Pranowo.

Yenny also revealed the conversation when meeting with Prabowo. The two of them talked more about geopolitical issues. Meanwhile, with Ganjar Pranowo, Yenny talked more about humanity and humanitarian issues.

"This is what I communicated to the two pairs of candidates, because I want to see what their vision is like, so that Nahdliyin residents, Gus Dur cadres, this in the future I am calm. As Indonesians they (Gus Dur cadres) will be teropeni (served)," Yenny said in Jombang, Friday, September 8.
