PLN Disjaya's 79 EV Charging Support, Electric Vehicle Transportation for the Delegation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit Smoothly

JAKARTA - PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) Jakarta Raya fully supports the activities of the 43rd ASEAN High Level Conference (KTT) by presenting electric vehicle infrastructure specifically for this grand event.

In the activities of the 43rd ASEAN Summit which took place on Tuesday-Thursday, 5-7 September, PLN allocated 79 EV chargers which could be used by 128 electric vehicles at once, namely 74 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) and 5 Public Electric Charging Stations (SPLU).

"PLN allocated 79 EV chargers specifically to meet the electricity supply needs for 800 delegate cars and operational cars at the 43rd ASEAN Summit," said General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya Lasiran in a written statement, Friday 8 September.

Lasiran revealed that SKPLU and SPLU themselves operate 24 hours and are in two locations, namely, Istora Senayan Parking and Senayan Aquatic Stadium Parking.

"Yes, we have prepared SKPLUs and SPLUs for the delegates' vehicles, as well as EV charging officers who are on standby 24 hours non-stop," said Lasiran.

He also said that the presence of SKPLU and SPLU was crucial, because the vehicles used by the delegates were environmentally friendly vehicles powered by electricity.

"The presence of SPKLU and SPLU is crucial because all delegation and operational vehicles use electric vehicles. Therefore, PLN has prepared 79 EV chargers specifically for the 43rd ASEAN Summit," explained Lasiran.

For your information, charging the delegates' electric vehicles has started on August 31 2023. Until September 6 2023, PLN EV charging in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area has served 2,477 electric vehicle charging times.
