Bareskrim Arrests Dito Mahendra, A Fugitive Owner Of Illegal Firearms

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is said to have arrested Dito Mahendra, who is a fugitive in an illegal firearm possession case.

The news of the arrest was confirmed by the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro.

Allegedly, Dito was arrested outside the Jakarta area. This is because Djuhandhani said he was in the process of returning to the capital city.

"Today I am returning to Jakarta," said Djuhandhani, Friday, September 8.

After being arrested, Dito Mahendra will be examined first. It is known, he was never present in the investigation or investigation of cases of illegal possession of firearms.

In this case, Dito Mahendra is threatened with life imprisonment or 20 years. Dito can be charged with Emergency Law number 12 of 1951.

Since being named a suspect after a case title was carried out on April 17, 2023, Dito Mahendra has never been present at the summons as a witness or suspect, so investigators published a wanted list (DPO) on May 2, 2023. Bareskrim Polri investigators found allegations of criminal acts in the discovery of 15 firearms at Dito Mahendra's house by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) during a Monday (13/3) search.

Of the 15 firearms, as many as nine units do not have documents or ownership permits as regulated by the National Police. As for the type of nine firearms, namely one pistol Clock 17, one revolver S&W, one pistol Clock 19 Zev, one pistol Angstadt Arms, one Noveske Rifle Rifle Rifle Rifle Rifleworks, one AK 101 rifle, one Heckler & Koch G 36 rifle, one Heckler & Koch MP5 pistol, and one AT the Walther Wind Rifle. The search at Dito Mahendra's house was carried out related to the investigation of alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) cases for the suspect former Secretary of the Supreme Court Nurhadi.
