PONTIANAK - Head of the Pontianak City Environment Agency (DLH), West Kalimantan, Syarif Usmulyono, said that the air quality in Pontianak City gradually improved due to the rainfall in the region. "The air quality condition from morning to evening was in a moderately good category with ISPU data concentration of PM2.5 particulates at 68 PM / m3 in the moderate category at 16.00 WIB," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 8. He explained the air quality of Pontianak City from September 5, 2023 which was in the moderate category because within a certain time it was still in the unhealthy category, namely at midnight at around 1 in the morning, then it fell again slowly before dawn. Improved this air quality, according to him, triggered by rain that flushed Pontianak during the last few days. "So that the current condition, thank God, is in the moderate category with the ISPU numbers below 15," he said. Even so, he asked Pontianak people to remain alert to the possibility of hotspots. even though air quality is getting better. "Meanwhile, Pontianak people must remain alert by not contributing to hotspots or smog," he said.

He also appealed to the public not to burn household waste and open land by burning it. "Let's work together not to burn the garbage of houses and land," he explained.
