Not Rp120 Billion, Mario Dandy Sentenced To Pay Restitution Of Rp25 Billion

The panel of judges decided that the defendant Mario Dandy Satriyo was not charged with paying restitution or compensation in the case of severe abuse against David Ozora amounting to Rp120 billion. But only Rp25 billion.

"The total amount of restitution is Rp. 25,140,161,900 (Rp. 25 billion)," said the judge during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday, September 7.

The decision on the restitution value was made after the panel of judges cut several points of compensation proposed by the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) through the public prosecutor (JPU).

The cuts are because there are several things that are considered irrelevant to be included in the restitution list.

In addition, the panel of judges also did not agree if the burden of restitution was replaced by imprisonment if the defendant was unable to pay. Because, restitution is said to be David's right as a victim.

"Considering that money is not everything, but in the incident that happened to the victim's child, David, according to the panel's opinion, it is unfair if the restitution which is the right of the victim's child David is replaced by imprisonment," said the judge.

Mario Dandy Satriyo was previously required by the prosecutor to pay restitution of Rp120,388,911,030 (Rp120 billion). If you can't afford it, then it will be replaced with a sentence of 7 years.

Meanwhile, Mario Dandy Satriyo was found guilty in the alleged severe abuse case of David Ozora. Meanwhile, the panel of judges sentenced him to 12 years in prison.

Mario Dandy Satriyo is said to have violated Article 355 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.
