KPK Waits For Cak Imin's Presence Today As A Witness In The Ministry Of Manpower Corruption Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is waiting for the presence of Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin today, Thursday, September 7. He was reminded to cooperate in fulfilling the summons as a witness to alleged corruption in the procurement of the Indonesian labor protection system (TKI) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker).

"It takes the cooperative attitude of witnesses so that the law enforcement process for corruption can run effectively and immediately provide legal certainty for related parties," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Wednesday, September 6.

Ali said investigators would later ask for a number of information from Cak Imin. Because, he had served as Minister of Manpower (Menaker) for the 2009-2014 period.

"Investigators will certainly explore the information and knowledge of witnesses regarding the alleged corruption case. So that it will shed light on the construction of the case," he said.

The KPK ensures that the investigation into the alleged corruption will be carried out transparanically. The public can be involved by following the process.

Moreover, Ali said, this case started with a public complaint. "We also invite the public to continue to follow the law enforcement process by the KPK as a form of transparency and public involvement in eradicating corruption in Indonesia," said Ali.

As previously reported, Cak Imin should have been examined as on Tuesday, September 5. It's just that he was not present because there was an event that had been scheduled beforehand.

Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission recalled Cak Imin on Thursday, September 7. He confirmed that he would be present at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"Tomorrow will definitely come. Because this is an ordinary process as a witness, I was asked to attend," said Cak Imin at NasDem Tower, Menteng, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 6.

Regarding this summons as a step to tackle him as a vice presidential candidate, Cak Imin was reluctant to comment. "I don't know, I don't know," he said.
