President Jokowi-Iriana In Traditional Betawi Dress During The Gala Dinner ASEAN

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo together with First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo were seen wearing traditional Betawi clothing when welcoming ASEAN leaders, partner countries, and heads of international organizations during the 43rd Gala Dinner ASEAN Summit.

President Jokowi and the First Lady welcomed the guests of honor at the dinner which had started arriving since 19.10 WIB in the City Forest by Plataran, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 6.

Reported by ANTARA, President Jokowi wore a black aristocratic outfit, equipped with an orange skullcap accessories, and a similar colored scarf embedded in the waist.

Meanwhile, the First Lady wore a bright yellow encim kebaya, with a pink flower motif, as well as a Betawi cloth of the same color. The yellow veil with a plain motif covered Iriana's head.

The leaders of ASEAN countries, partner countries and heads of international organizations also appear to be compact wearing Indonesian batik.

As for the 43rd Galanner of the ASEAN Summit, Arnold Poernomo was appointed as a cook who would serve dinner menus to guests of honor.

Arnold himself once handled the 42nd Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

On the previous occasion, Arnold explained that at the 4rd ASEAN Summit dinner this time he invited a cook as a special guest star.

According to Arnold, the inspiration for cooking in the 43rd Gala Dinner of the ASEAN Summit is in accordance with the theme "Nusantara on The Forest". He said the request submitted was food with a luxurious, magnificent, and delicious look.

The Gala Dinner of the 43rd ASEAN Summit will be presented in an attractive manner with dance performances.
