Failed To Overtake, Head Of Motorcyclist Killed By Truck In Cakung

JAKARTA - A motorcyclist named Safrial Asbi, a resident of Semper, North Jakarta, was found dead on Wednesday, September 6.

The victim died after failing to overtake a truck loaded with industrial waste passing on Jalan Bekasi Raya, towards Cakung to Pulogadung, Cakung District, East Jakarta.

The victim died after being run over by a truck tire and was seriously injured in the head.

Andri, the truck driver, said the incident occurred when the traffic flow was jammed at the scene. The victim, who allegedly saw an empty gap, tried to overtake the truck from the left.

However, the truck that was walking slowly hit the motorbike. Meanwhile, the truck driver said that he did not see any motorbikes trying to pass.

"The motorbike slipped, I saw the left rearview mirror when I saw the right mirror, suddenly it was clear. He cut the road, from the left straight to the right of him," Andri told reporters at the location, Wednesday, September 6.

The victim who was hit then fell, and got under a truck. The victim was run over and died.

"He was hit by the left tire. The situation was jammed, I was slow," he said.

Meanwhile, the police who arrived at the location immediately processed the crime scene. Meanwhile, the victim was evacuated to the Kramatjati Police Hospital, East Jakarta. Meanwhile, the driver and truck and the victim's motorbike were taken to the East Jakarta Traffic Unit for further processing.
