860 Residents Of Bandarlampung Infected By ISPA In The Last 9 Months

LAMPUNG BANDAR - Bandar Lampung City Government (Pemkot) recorded as many as 860 people in their area were infected with acute respiratory tract infections (ISPA) during the January-September 2023 period.

"Until now, 860 people, both vulnerable and toddlers in this city, have been affected by ARI," said Acting Head of the Bandar Lampung City Health Office, Desti Mega Putri, in Bandar Lampung, Monday, September 4, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the number of people infected with ARI in 2023 had decreased compared to 2022 which reached 1,984 ISPA cases in this city.

"Alhamdulillah, this year 1,124 cases have fallen from 1,984 cases," he said.

He said that the spread of ARI in this city was evenly distributed in 20 sub-districts, with risk factors, including cigarette smoke, road ash and others.

"Moreover, it is currently the dry season, so the body's immune system can easily drop which could cause ARI due to these risk factors," he said.

Then, he continued, in order to anticipate contracting ISPA, the community is expected to maintain a healthy and clean lifestyle (PHBS), and be aware of climate change.

"We hope that the public will continue to maintain health during this dry season. And for active smokers, it is hoped that they will stay away if they want to smoke so that people around them do not become passive smokers," he said.
