PBNU Will Hold Alim Ulana National Conference And A Great Conference At Cilangkap, East Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board will hold the Alim Ulama National Conference (Munas) and a large conference at the Al-Hamid Islamic Boarding School, Cilangkap, East Jakarta on September 18-20, 2023.

PBNU Chairman KH Yahya Cholil Staquf stated that the National Conference and a large conference would be opened directly by President Joko Widodo on September 18, 2023 at 09.00 WIB, attended by 600 clerics from the Syuriyah and tanfidziyah ranks.

"We are planning to hold a national deliberation of scholars and a major conference of Nahdlatul Ulama, God willing, on September 18 to 20, 2023," he said in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, September 3.

Gus Yahya explained that the National Conference of Alim Ulama will discuss religious issues, especially those related to the life of the nation and state as well as the interests of many people.

Meanwhile, a big conference is a forum from Nahdlatul Ulama administrators at the provincial level throughout Indonesia to discuss matters related to the NU organization itself.

Deputy Chairperson of PBNU Amin Said Husni added that the National Conference of Alim Ulama and the NU Grand Conference was attended by all PWNU, elderly scholars, and caretakers of Islamic boarding schools in the NU environment with a total of 600 participants estimated.

Once opened, the agenda will continue with plenary sessions which will later be divided into commission hearings.

Some of the agendas that will be discussed in the national deliberation, continued Kiai Amin Said, include related to social themes seen and reviewed from a religious perspective.

Meanwhile, a large conference will discuss the operational design of the Nahdlatul Ulama congregation in order to win the future of how to manage the congregation.

"How the operational design of program and organization implementation can be effective and at the same time open space to win the future," he said.

Chairman of the National Conference of Alim Ulama and the 2023 Nahdlatul Ulama Grand Conference KH Aizzudin Abdurrahman said this forum would be held in two places, namely the Al-Hamid Cilangkap Islamic Boarding School and Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory.

"This event will be held in two places and this is one of the treasures of the Nahdlatul Ulama tradition," he said.

He said the opening was carried out at the Al-Hamid Islamic Boarding School with many students who would later take part in the event while the activities for commission sessions at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory were held.

Gus Aiz said that the National Conference and the big conference this time carried the theme Accompanying the People, Winning the Future. This theme was chosen to emphasize the main principles for NU in contributing to the Indonesian people.

"The theme also reflects NU's determination to continue to fight for social justice for the benefit of the people," he said.
