Describe The Condition, Regency Government Asks Kemendikbudristek To Repair 70 Schools In Central Lombok Earthquake Victims

NTB - The Central Lombok Regency Government (Pemkab) submitted a proposal to repair 70 schools that are still affected by the earthquake to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

"The submission of the proposal is expected to get a budget allocation for the repair process," said the Regent of Central Lombok Regency, H Lalu Fathul Bahri in Praya, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Friday, September 1, which was confiscated by Antara.

Fathul also described the emergency conditions of a number of schools that suffered severe damage to the earthquake, especially since the school building was established in 1970, but has never experienced significant improvements.

"We have conveyed the condition of the school directly to the Ministry of Education and Culture," he said.

He hopes that schools that are damaged by disasters and other schools that require renovations will receive rehabilitation funds through the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) or other sources of funding sourced from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

"Local governments have submitted a recovery proposal for 70 schools that are still affected by the earthquake, in the hope of getting a budget allocation for the repair process," he said.

He said Central Lombok Regency was geographically in a position prone to national disasters. Analysis of the national disaster risk revealed that of the 12 types of disasters identified, 10 of them have the potential to occur in the Central Lombok Regency area.

"Hopefully the submission can be realized," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Lombok Regency Education and Culture Office, Lalu Idham Halid, emphasized the urgency of the importance of conducting technical studies on the structure of school buildings. Adjustments to the natural conditions of Central Lombok, which is located in earthquake-prone areas, are crucial in ensuring the safety and resilience of school buildings.

"We need to carefully consider every technical aspect of development, given the disaster risks that exist in this area," he said.
