Press Council Appreciates The Presence Of The Pimred Multimedia Forum, Bagir Manan: FPRMI, Guarding Press Wage

JAKARTA The Press Council appreciates the presence of the Indonesian Multimedia Editors Leadership Forum (FPRMI). The Press Council hopes that the presence of this association can add new rides as a place to interact, share, and also do positive things in maintaining the press as one of the forts of democracy in Indonesia. The press must be more independent, grow positively and responsibly. Thus conveyed by Asep Setiawan, Chairman of the Partnership and Infrastructure Commission of the Press Council for the period 2022 2025, when he was a keynote speaker at the Inauguration of FPRMI and Seminar Management with the theme of Strengthening MSMEs and Ultra Micro, at the Sultan Hotel. The seminar on the strengthening of MSMEs and Ultra Micro presents two sources, namely Regional Manager of PT PNM Ahmad Satria and Secretary of PT Pegadaian Yudi Sadono.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the 2010-2016 Press Council, Prof. Dr. H. Bagir Manan, SH, MCL, invited all newly confirmed administrators to be able to oversee press freedom as mandated by law 40/1999.

This needs to be reminded again so that in the opinion of the press it does not violate the freedom of the press.

Bagir Manan said, there is no free press as freely as possible. "Freedom will not reduce our responsibility," said the former Chief Justice of the Indonesian Supreme Court for the 2001-2008 Period.

Free press only exists in a democracy and a country that upholds the law as a guideline. Press and journalistic work are intellectual products. That's why he hopes journalists will always be in the environment or intellectual atmosphere.

Intellectuality is limited in ethics. In addition, intellectuality also requires courage. These brave people are a symbol of justice and truth, said Bagir Manan accompanied by the Indonesian FPRMI Board of Trustees HM Untung Kurniadi.
