The Tabalong Police are investigating the BTS battery collectors resulting from the theft of two perpetrators in the Bintang Ara Village area, Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).

"We will investigate whether there was an element of intent or not when the Telkomsel battery was stolen by the perpetrator," said Tabalong Police Chief AKBP Anib Bastian in his statement in Tabalong, Wednesday, August 30, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the two perpetrators with the initials PU (43) and AL (23) sold the stolen goods to buyers in Tanjung City. Both are BTS tower maintenance employees of PT Telkomsel in Bintang Ara Village.

Previously, the Tabalong Police arrested PU and AL in Landasan Ulin Timur Village, Landasan Ulin District, Banjarbaru City. The arrests were based on complaints from Telkomsel regarding the disappearance of their BTS tower battery last week.

Of the total proceeds from the sale of the stolen battery, the two perpetrators used to pay debts of Rp. 1 million, car repair costs of Rp. 1.9 million and daily operations of Rp. 1.8 million.

Kasatreskrim Tabalong Police Iptu Galih Putra Wiratama added that the theft was carried out by four people.

Two other perpetrators of theft with weight have undergone legal proceedings at the Hulu Sungai Selatan Police for carrying out the same action.

"As employees, the maintenance of the BTS tower, the two perpetrators are quite experienced because they can release and find out the economic value of the stolen battery," he said.
